The Ministry is actively involved in ensuring that knowledge developed for public benefit is quickly transferred to producers and other target groups. Through the Agricultural Demonstration of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT) program and Agriculture Applied Research Management (Agri-ARM) sites, the Ministry provides funding to ensure that knowledge and technologies relevant to Saskatchewan's conditions are quickly transferred from research plots to our producers.

The focus of the Ministry's research and development initiatives is development of knowledge for the benefit of the public and producers. However, the Ministry also makes investments in the development and commercialization of new innovations and knowledge that have market potential. This initiative is supported and managed through the Industry Liaison Office at the University of Saskatchewan and Ag-West Bio Inc. The Ministry invests approximately $1.1 million per year to lead commercialization of technology.

Saskatchewan based processing companies, producer/processor organizations, and businesses involved in value-added processing of agricultural products that maintain a significant business interest in Saskatchewan are eligible for value-added business development programming.

The ADOPT program will provide funding to help producer groups evaluate and demonstrate new agricultural practices and technologies at the local level.

The Saskatchewan Agri-ARM (Agriculture-Applied Research Management) Program connects eight regional applied research and demonstration sites into a province-wide network.
